With the thistle flower

Some time ago, all over the Friûl, on the eve of San Juan the thistle flowers were collected. The Petals were cut to the base, starting near by the corolla. And then, they were exposed to the night dew.

If in the morning the petals had grown back, the prognosis was positive. For harvesting, if it was performed to know the future of the field. If it was performed to know about love, a good ending for the courtship.

Using a walnut tree

The girl who wanted to do this ritual, had to choose a young walnut tree that still had not nuts given.

The night before, after the nocturnal Ave Maria, she must go to tree and tied a red rope.

The next morning, before the morning Ave Maria, she must secretly return, choosing another path different from the night before, and untie the knot of the rope.
The young man who will married her will have the same name as the first man who would cross the street when she returned home.
